March Sadness

Two days later, I'm prepared to talk about the upset of the tourney to date: Wake Forest's pitiful choke against Cleveland State. Brian warned me about Cleveland State's toughness on Selection Sunday, when Wake got robbed with a 4 seed in the overall 1 seed's bracket. Thanks, selection committee. Keep in mind that Wake was ranked 9th prior to the conference tournaments and although they blew it to Maryland, they still didn't deserve to go up against Louisville in the Sweet 16.

That was assuming they would make the Sweet 16, however. But in typical Wake Forest fashion, they choked in the tournament. The team that was the last to go undefeated in the entire NCAA, the number 1 college basketball team in the country for a while, went down in the first round to Cleveland State. 84-69. It was never close.

If you're reading this, you're well aware that this household cheers for 3 collegiate teams: Wake, UK and Syracuse. With UK's pitiful performance this year that landed them an invitation to the Not Invited Tournament (new coach, please) and Wake's pitiful self-destruction, we're all about the Orange right now. You're also probably more than familiar with the slight competitive streak that runs through this household, and the fact that we do not like losing...or being made fun of.

Enter Mike "Sac State went 2-27 this year" Watts and his oh-so-clever blog post: http://weisswatts.blogspot.com/. Our good friend knows exactly how to push my buttons and has done so quite well again this year. Did I laugh? Maybe... Are we still going to see the Watts when they come to California in a few weeks? We'll try to grab lunch with Jen and Cooper. When you read his post, keep in mind that although Mike may have a penchant for humor, he doesn't have the same talent for winning.

This Eiffel Tower from an old game of Cramium looks more like "I'm a little teapot" to me.

And no, Mike and Brian did NOT win.

It was absolutely pathetic! Ryan even told my parents they could start indoctrinating Charlotte to be a Georgia fan since it would be virtual child abuse to set them up for such disappointment year after year. Why is it we always crash in tournament play?
